Maria Prieto

Born and raised in Mexico, Maria Prieto is a 63-year-old artist whose creative journey began later in life, proving that art can bloom in every season. She holds a Bachelor's in naturopathy, specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine and herbal medicine. Maria has spent her life dedicated to healing others. As the mother of ten children, she has always found purpose in caring for her family and community.

After the passing of her life partner of more than 40 years, Maria turned to painting as a way to navigate grief and rediscover hope. What began as a deeply personal form of healing soon evolved into a passionate artistic practice.

Drawing from her lifelong connection to wellness, nature, and the rhythms of life, Maria creates works that reflect resilience, transformation, and the enduring beauty that can emerge from loss. Each painting is an expression of love, remembrance, and renewal—a reminder that healing is found not only in medicine but also through creativity.
