Karen S. Conley

Medium: Oil and pastels


Karen grew up in Clarion, PA, and after graduating from college, moved to New Mexico before joining the US Army. After a 28-year career in the Army, she and her husband moved back to Las Cruces. Karen completed her BFA in 2018 at New Mexico State University and, before this, earned a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.  


Her work has been shown at the NMSU University Art Museum, Las Cruces Art Museum, Art Obscura, Rokoko Gallery, and Gallery 925.      


Karen has taught OutsmART workshops for the University Art Museum, worked at the Doña Ana Arts Council served on the Friends of the University Art Gallery Board and the Las cruces Space Festival Committee.  She is currently the president of ArtForms.

Karen  enjoys photographing the beautiful New Mexico night skies.  She also works part-time as arts educator and is on the Las Cruces Space Festival Planning Committee.
